Every weekday, you have a chance to win if you have that day’s Lucky $50 note in any cash you withdraw from one of Hume’s 34 ATMs if just by chance it is already in your wallet.

If the serial number on a $50 note in your possession matches the unique serial number advertised that day in The Border Mail, you can win $50.

You don’t need to be a Hume member to win

For your chance to win $50 simply:

Step 1. Purchase the Border Mail Monday-Friday.

Step 2. Check the serial number printed on the front page of that day’s paper.

Step 3. Withdraw $50 notes from any of Hume’s 34 ATMs* and also check your wallet to see if you have a $50 note that matches the published serial number.

Step 4. Call (02) 6051 3355 or visit a Hume branch by close of business 5.00pm that day to claim your $50. You will need to show the Lucky $50 note to claim your prize.

If the $50 Lucky note is unclaimed on any day, the unclaimed amount will rollover and be included in the next day’s prize money. If the next day’s serial number is not successfully claimed, the prize money will continue to be rolled over until it is claimed, meaning you have a chance to win multiple jackpot amounts during the competition.

Non-Hume cardholders will pay a direct charge of $2 for any Hume ATM withdrawal. Any unclaimed prize money will roll over into the following days prize money. The competition commences on 22nd June 2009 with the first Lucky serial number being printed in The Border Mail and the Hume Lucky $50 note hotline opening at 9.00am that day. The Competition shall cease with the Hume Lucky $50 note hotline closing at 5.00pm on 11th September 2009.
Entry is open to all individual Australian residents over 18 years of age but excludes directors or employees of The Border Mail and Hume Building Society Ltd or their immediate families.
The daily prize on offer will be $50 (AUD) and will Jackpot by $50 per business day until the next serial number is successfully matched.
The reader of The Border Mail in possession of the $50 showing the serial number matching the number printed in the newspaper for that day will have until 5.00pm the same day to claim their prize via the Hume Lucky $50 hotline (02) 6051 3355 or any Hume branch. To be eligible to claim the $50 (or jackpotted amount) the contestant will need to provide the $50 note (AUD) as evidence they hold the $50 note which matches the unique serial number printed in The Border Mail. If the prize is not claimed on any day by 5pm, no claim can be made to that prize on a subsequent day and the prize amount will be rolled over and added to the prize money for the next day.
Mechanics of competition:-
a. All Lucky $50 Notes will be put into circulation via selected Hume Building Society ATMs;
b. The Border Mail will print the unique serial number for one $50 note every day Monday – Friday between 22nd June 2009 & 19th August 2009. This will be the Lucky $50 note for that day;
c. All $50 notes will be placed into circulation 1-5 days prior to publication of their unique serial number;
d. Withdrawals from Hume ATMs can be by members or non-members of Hume. Where non-members use a Hume ATM, a direct charge of $2 will apply to the transaction. If someone discovers the serial number of a Lucky $50 note obtained other than directly from a Hume ATM, they are still eligible to claim the prize subject to these terms and conditions.
Distribution of Prize Money:-
a. In the event that the winner of the daily $50 prize (or jackpotted amount) holds a Hume Building Society account, an additional $50 (or jackpotted amount) will be deposited into their chosen account/s by Hume Building Society.
b. In the event that a prize winner does not hold a Hume Building Society account, an account will be opened in their name upon their meeting statutory identification requirements and becoming a member of Hume Building Society. The additional $50 (or jackpotted amount) will be placed into that account on their behalf.
c. No cash reward is available other than through a Hume Building Society transaction or savings account.
No responsibility will be accepted for late or misdirected phone calls claiming a prize.
No correspondence will be entered to in relation to any prize.
A copy of these conditions will be available on Hume Building Society’s website www.humebuild.com.au or at any Hume branch.
In the event that for any reason whatsoever the $50 (or jackpotted amount) is in the possession of someone due to unlawful behaviour Hume Building Society reserves the right to withdraw the award.
