Hume a national finalist for AB+F AWARDS 2009

Hume Building Society is a national finalist in the Australian Banking & Finance Awards 2009 (“AB+F”) Awards for excellence in Australia’s banking system.

The global financial crisis has put the banking industry under more scrutiny than ever. The panel of industry experts have selected and judged Australia’s best banking executives and companies.

The Chairman, Ulf Ericson welcomed the news that the CEO of Hume Andrew Saxby is a finalist for Financial Services Executive of the Year and is up against many of the major banks.

Industry nationals include Commonwealth Bank CEO Ralph Norris, Bank of Queensland Managing Director David Liddy and HSBC CEO Stuart Davis.

Hume CEO Andrew Saxby said today Hume's success is due to all staff and the value Hume places on the relationships it develops with its members.

“Hume continues to grow and prosper, individuals achieve personal goals and the local community has a financial institution that cares,” he said.

Hume is also a finalist as Building Society of the Year and is recognised for its strategy of delivering excellent products, outstanding customer service and unparalleled convenience. 

Hume CEO Andrew Saxby said it is incredible news for the Border with the recent announcement of 94.3% Customer Satisfaction from Roy Morgan Research Survey March 2009.

“In these tough times, Hume has managed an organisation that continues to see outstanding growth, satisfied members and very happy employees.”

The winners will be announced at the Australian Banking & Finance Awards 2009 on Thursday 28 May 2009 at the Westin in Sydney.
